Kim Cavitt Au.D.
While third-party insurers now cover the costs associated with a large percentage of hearing aid sales in the United States, the audiology community has not modified its pricing or billing structure to reflect the differences between private and third-party payment. In this workshop we will discuss the differences between unbundled and bundled hearing aid pricing models and explore options for hearing aid pricing for succeeding in the new hearing aid marketplace. ADA Business Management Training Program: Module 1 Financial Management
ADA is pleased to introduce the Audiology Business Management Training Program, which is designed to equip audiologists with the tools and training needed to effectively manage the business components of a private practice.

Module 1: Financial Management will be launched as a six-hour pre-conference workshop. The curriculum, developed by ADA's education committee and delivered by experts will focus on four key areas:

  • Accounting Principles and Controls
  • Practice Tax Law
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Reporting and Analysis

Through its design, the ADA Audiology Business Management Training Program will provide the knowledge and education necessary to expand the skill sets of audiologists who have limited, intermediate and advanced knowledge of business management. Audiologists who successfully complete the entire series of five modules may earn an ADA Certificate in Audiology Business Management. Each module may also be taken independently. (6 hours)

Pre-Conference Workshops: TRACK 3
High Tech, High Touch Hearing Aid Selection & Fitting
Wendy Switalski Au.D.; Dr. Brian Taylor Au.D.
There are several recently published studies suggesting a strong positive relationship between patient satisfaction, practice revenue and quality. In each of these studies the authors provide a list of procedures and tools that could be used to improve word-of-mouth referrals, patient satisfaction and delivery of patient care. In this workshop we show you how to conduct these tests and procedures in a highly engaging and interactive manner.

Attendees of this workshop will learn how to understand the relationship between quality of care and execution of a standard clinical process; utilize innovative tests and tools that drive quality of care, patient satisfaction and business growth; and implement a step-by-step clinical protocol that is technologically advanced and highly empathic. (6 hours)
